Account and service information
EarBrief uses your email to verify your account, send sign-in messages and provide account recovery. Account records also include your profile, access permissions and preferences. If you opt into Daily email alerts, your email is used to deliver those notifications. Hosting and authentication services process technical information needed to operate and protect the service.
Daily episodes require a verified account. Private personal content and private audio links are not published on the marketing site. The homepage sample is a separately reviewed recording selected for anonymous public listening.
Newsletter content and generated audio
The briefing workflow processes source material to create scripts and narrated audio. Raw newsletter text in EarBrief’s source storage is scheduled for deletion after seven days. That limit does not mean all related data disappears after seven days: generated scripts, audio, source metadata, account records, operational logs, backups and provider-held data have separate lifecycles.
AI writing and speech services receive the material needed for generation. EarBrief uses restricted data-handling routes for text generation, but those settings do not extend to every service. In particular, speech generation is not covered by a blanket zero-retention guarantee. Do not treat EarBrief as a place to submit material requiring zero external retention.
Product analytics
EarBrief uses PostHog Cloud in the US to understand page visits, account setup and listening behavior. When browser analytics are enabled, cookies and local storage recognize returning browsers. After sign-in, activity can be linked to your account ID, email, display name when present, signup date and account/access categories. Browser and device information, referring domains, selected campaign labels and approximate location derived from the connection’s IP address may also be processed. Raw IP storage is disabled in the analytics project.
Analytics exclude newsletter content, source names and links, episode identifiers, private audio links, authentication tokens and confirmation codes. URL queries and fragments are removed except for restricted campaign labels. Session replay, automatic click capture and browser error-content capture are disabled. Explicit events include account-entry clicks and listening milestones.
You can turn off browser analytics below or in Settings. The choice applies to this browser. Global Privacy Control prevents browser analytics initialization, and the analytics SDK respects Do Not Track. This control does not erase earlier records or stop the server-side lifecycle events and operational records used to run the service.
Services involved
EarBrief relies on Vercel for hosting and workflow execution; Supabase for authentication, database and storage; Resend for transactional email; Cloudflare for domain and email-routing services; OpenRouter and its selected model providers for text generation; Fish Audio for speech generation; and PostHog for product analytics. Processing can occur outside your country. Each provider’s own data-handling terms also apply to its operation of the service.
Email open and click tracking is disabled in EarBrief’s transactional email configuration. Security and delivery records can still be retained to operate the service and diagnose failures.
Questions and deletion requests
Use hello@earbrief.com for privacy questions or to request account and associated analytics deletion. Send the request from your account email where possible so ownership can be verified. Do not include passwords, one-time codes or private feed links. Turning off browser analytics is separate from requesting deletion of previously collected information.
